Was ist so passiert in den letzten Wochen? Eine Menge, wie immer. ;)
Ich bekomme pro Nacht immer nur noch etwa 4-5 Stunden Schlaf - maximal. Aber es macht unglaublich viel Spaß und ich wäre nirgendwo lieber. Zumal es heute das erste Mal richtig geschneit hat. Seit Dienstag sagt der nette Wettermann, dass es am Samstag schneien soll. Und was habe ich seit Dienstag gemacht? Dem Samstag entgegengefiebert. Natürlich. Ich glaube auch, dass ich in einem Umkries von 2 Meilen die Einzige bin, die, seit es angefangen hat zu schneien, mit einem breiten Grinsen durch die Gegend läuft. Ich kann gar nicht sagen, wie großartig ich den ersten Schnee finde. Alle, die das hören, sagen nur: "Jaja. Ich frag dich dann nochmal in ca 2 Wochen wie du Schnee findest, ok?"
Mag sein, aber im Moment bin ich einfach nur glücklich.
Plus: Ich konnte meinen Aufenthalt hier verlängern und werde nun noch bis zum Sommer berichten können. Natürlich werde ich weiterhin versuchen, alle Merkwürdigkeiten zu dokumentieren und zu erleben, was es zu erleben gibt.
Ein Erlebnis findet zum Beispiel gerade in diesem Moment statt. Im amerikanischen Fernsehen läuft doch tatsächlich die amerikanische Version von "Glücksrad". Jetzt. Knaller. Hier heißt es "Wheel of fortune". Da kommen doch glatt ein paar frühe Kindeheitserinnerungen hoch. :)
Außerdem steht nächste Woche ja auch Thanksgiving vor der Tür. Die Amerikaner nehmen diesen Feiertag sehr ernst. In der Schule bekommen wir schon einen Tag VOR Thanksgiving frei und der Tag danach "Black Friday" ist auch frei. Der Freitag ist hier traditionell der Tag, an dem die Geschäfte eine Menge Sonderangebote haben. Target macht zum Beispiel schon um 00:00 Uhr auf. Mir wurde dringend davon abgeraten, an diesem Spektakel teilzunehmen. Zu riskant und zu gewalttätig. ;)

So, what happened during the last couple of weeks? A lot. Like usual. ;)
Nothing has changend and I get like 4 to 5 hours of sleep per night - max. But I love being here and there's no place on earth where I rather wanted to be right now. Today we had the first snow of the season. Since Tuesday the friendly weather guy on TV told us that there will be snow on Saturday. And guess what I did since Tuesday? Waiting for Saturday of course. ;) And I believe that I am the only person in a circuit of 2 miles who has a smile on the face. Since it started to snow. I even can't find words how awesome the snow is. Neither in English nor German. Everyone keep on telling me: "Sure. You like it now. I'll ask again in 2 weeks, ok?"
Could be true. But right now I am just happy.
Plus: I could extend my stay here. Which means that I can tell you about the summer, too. Of course I'll try to write about all the crazy stuff that will come and try to experience whatever I can.
One of this experiences is here. Right now. In this moment. On the TV is the American version of "Glücksrad". Now. It's called "The wheel of fortune". Nice memories of my early childhood are popping up in my mind. :)
And Thanksgiving is next week. The Americans take this holiday very seriously. School will end next week on Tuesday evening and the Friday after Thanksgiving - Black Friday - it's a holiday, too. The tradition is that in the stores everything is on sale. And the Americans go crazy. Target for example will open at midnight. People advised me against going there. To risky and too violent. ;)
